1st Annual Light Up Downtown South
 Downtown South held its first annual Light Up Downtown South Christmas Tree Lighting on Sunday, December 8th in Lake Beauty Park.  There was a large crowd present including neighborhood residents, event sponsors, business owners and Orlando Health employees.
Downtown South held its first annual Light Up Downtown South Christmas Tree Lighting on Sunday, December 8th in Lake Beauty Park.  There was a large crowd present including neighborhood residents, event sponsors, business owners and Orlando Health employees.
The audience was entertained by the Blankner School chorus, by The Christ School chorus and the Boone High School chorus. The Orlando Philharmonic was also part of the tree lighting ceremony. Alison Walker with Channel 13 served as Master of Ceremonies and very special guests of the evening were Commissioner Patty Sheehan, Stuff from the Orlando Magic and Santa who together helped light the Christmas tree. Residents and businesses enjoyed finding their special ornaments on the tree which will be up until the end of December.
 A large check in the amount of $2,500 representing the proceeds from the sales of ornaments was presented to the Howard Phillips Center for Children and Families during the ceremony.
