Downtown South Committees
Four committees are the backbone of Downtown South. These committees plan and implement the goals of Downtown South.
Downtown South is a community based program, drawing on the talent, passion, and resources of local businesses, residents, property owners and the government to restructure and nurture a vibrant business district that is inviting for people to live, work, shop, dine and play.
Downtown South committees include volunteers that are residents, representatives of corporations, city officials, and own small businesses. These volunteers are committed to bringing renewed activity, vitality, and a sense of pride to the community of Downtown South.
Design Committee – Joe Waddell, Chair

The Design Committee encourages physical improvements to the area. This includes façade upgrades, banners for the district, bike racks and steet-scapes. People with a background in architecture or art and design are encouraged to join, as well as anyone else interested in helping Downtown South look the best it can.

Economic Restructuring Committee – Jeremy Pullen, Chair

Committee members work on a number of projects, including creating a recruitment packet, identifying and speaking with potential business owners, conducting market studies and promoting networking between businesses. With a number of vacant storefronts in our area there is a lot of opportunity to shape the character of Downtown South – we need people with good business sense and an interest in the success of the business we have and will have.

Organization Committee – Dan Pavlik, Chair

The Organization Committee assists with the overall management of Downtown South through oversight, fundraising and our membership program. Residents, merchants, commercial property owners are all great for this committee along with those with an accounting background, media representatives and volunteer specialists.
Meetings: 3rd Tuesdays 5:00 PM (Legends Sports Bar and Grill, 1315 S. Orange Avenue)
Promotions Committee – John Creek, Chair

The purpose of this committee is to promote Downtown South’s commercial district through creative marketing, public relations, advertising, and events. If you have a background in any of these areas or are just enthusiastic about Downtown South and want to get involved, the Promotion Committee would love to have you.
Meetings: 4th Wednesday 4:00 PM (Lofts at SODO, 100 W. Grant Street – park in parking garage)
